Looking for their first win of the season Team Jets took on Ryland at Home. But twice the squad lost their lead, including a five goal lead in the second quarter. After working hard they managed to lead at half-time 28-24, although that advantage was also lost as Ryland drew level at 37-37 by the end of the third.

It took some amazing team effort to come back from behind in the last 3 minutes to take their first win 47 v 44.

‘The way the girls kept fighting was really pleasing, they didn’t let their heads drop,’ said head coach Linda Andrews.

‘I’m so proud of them all. They’re under enormous pressure this year, the new girls and the regulars, but they held together and pushed on until the end.’

Congratulations to U16 Team Jets Squad who have won all 4 of their matches at their seeding tournament today securing their place in Regional Division One as the only unbeaten side! They beat Plymstock 26-7, Team Bath 16-13, Old Chelts 21-8 and Poole 22-11. They dominated in all the matches except that against Team Bath, where the squad had to show extra determination and character to come back from a loosing position at half time.

Old rivals Telstars wanted to get revenge after drawing their match last season which was played in Jersey. Unfortunately this was the outcome as the new Team Jets struggled to shut down the Telstars tall attack.

Despite taking the first goal of the game and starting the second quarter with a fantastic centre pass interception from Captain/POM Lauren Devine, Jets couldn't start the season with a win.

They did however win the 4th quarter and hopefully can take this through to their next match.
